Christmas Eve Events at St. John the Divine

Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, New York City offers all kinds of opportunities to get in the holiday spirit! One To World has once again partnered with the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine to offer tickets to two special Christmas Eve mass celebrations:

December 24, 3:45pm – 5:30pm : Christmas Eve Lessons and Carols
The Service of Lessons and Carols is a recent but now classical element of Anglican Liturgy, first instituted for Christmas Eve 1880 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Truro. This beloved Christmas service begins with a musical prelude at 3:45 pm and will include musical contributions by the Cathedral Choirs as they celebrate the birth of the light.

December 24, 10pm – 11:59pm : Christmas Eve Festival Eucharist
Merry Christmas! The evening begins with prelude music at 10, followed by the festal service at 10:30 pm. The Bishop of New York celebrates the Eucharist and preaches. The Cathedral Choirs and Orchestra perform a festive mass setting and anthems, as well as classic Christmas carols.

Both events are church services, but they are open to anyone! Whether you're interested in attending for religious purposes or interested in experiencing a Christmas tradition, you are welcome to attend!
