Here is your chance to participate in a 60-minute guided tour to view one of the most famous churches in NYC--- the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and its amazing architectural aesthetics, to hear about its history and cultural significance through in-depth story-telling.
You'll also have the unique opportunity to participate in a conversation after the tour with Frank Brown, the President of the church's board and Advisory Director of General Atlantic. Beyond his affiliation with St. John the Divine, Mr. Brown has a diverse background in global risk management, leading an international business school, a 26-year career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and much more, so you are encouraged to come prepared with questions!
From this experience, you’ll learn all about the church’s original design conception, and its transformation and construction by seeing examples of architectural features that demonstrate Gothic Revival architecture. From its design conception in 1888, to its opening just one week before the bombing of Pearl Harbor, you’ll leave with a greater understanding of the church’s historic importance in New York City.
