Looking to take a day trip and get out of NYC? Join us as we spend the day in Princeton, New Jersey on Princeton University’s campus! We’ll get a crash course in American Football before watching a matchup between ivy league rivals Princeton and Yale University. We will also have lunch with Princeton international students and tour the campus. See below for the full itinerary!

 

Princeton University is a private Ivy League University. Founded in 1746 as the Collegiate School, it is the fourth-oldest institution of higher education in the United States and among the most prestigious in the world. This is a once in a lifetime, unique opportunity to visit a famous university full of history, attend an American football game, and enjoy the beautiful Autumn foliage in New Jersey

 

Day Trip Itinerary: 

10:30am – Arrive in Princeton, NJ

11:00am – Mix & Mingle during brunch with Princeton international students while listening to a presentation about American football and football history at Princeton University

12:00pm – Football Game: Princeton University vs. Yale University

3:00pm – 5:00 PM Free Time to explore campus and downtown Princeton

5:15pm – Leave Princeton

Public Speaking skills are vital for clear communication, confidence, and persuasive expression, leading to success in various personal and professional endeavors. This workshop is designed to help you speak effortlessly. Through interactive games and activities, attendees will gain valuable practice in public speaking skills for their next interview or to introduce an honoree at One To World’s annual gala (see photo above)!

 

Aman is a public speaking coach at Ultraspeaking. He helps clients from all walks of life combat speaking challenges in their personal and professional lives. This workshop will cater to individuals who use English as a second language and struggle to converse in English. You can expect to gain effective delivery, spontaneity and an improved ability of storytelling. In addition, you will learn to improve your delivery skills for presentations and networking events.

 

This workshop is designed for you to leave as a more expressive and authentic speaker, but mostly to make speaking fun!

The event will take place in Midtown Manhattan and light refreshments will be provided.

In celebration of International Education Week, join us for a potluck in the spirit of Thanksgiving at The New School near Union Square in Manhattan. Volunteers will be contributing dishes from their native countries and sharing stories about why they chose a particular dish and who they learned their secret recipes from. This exchange of cultures through food will be an amazing opportunity to make new friends and celebrate the season of being grateful together!

 

If you want to bring a dish, please indicate the name of the dish and its ingredients when buying a ticket. After the event, we will reimburse the entrance fee to volunteers. The Student Conference on U.S. Affairs (SCUSA) has been held annually since 1960. The conference is a mix of speeches and panels featuring high-ranking military and civilian leaders, as well as discussion roundtables and social events. The keynote speaker this year is John Kerry, Presidential Envoy on Climate Change, former secretary of state and former Democratic nominee for president of the United States. Past speakers have included Secretary Henry Kissinger, Secretary Madeleine Albright, Ambassador Susan Rice, and General Paul Nakasone. At their discussion sessions, delegates will get the opportunity to react to the contents of speeches, to more personally meet other delegates, and to guide the conversation by voicing their opinion on the many subtopics related to the conference theme. Around 1-3 international delegates will be assigned to each roundtable, along with student delegate from civilian and military institutions from around the United States.

 

One To World’s delegation plays a special role in this prestigious foreign affairs conference by adding a critical international perspective to the student deliberations on U.S. foreign policy. As international student participants, One To World delegates enrich the conference with their various national and cultural perspectives, as well as their academic experience. In turn, American undergraduate conference participants and Cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point share their cultural, political, and educational views with One To World’s delegates in an exciting academic and social setting.

 

The SCUSA fee is $300. This fee covers the registration fee, round-trip transportation from NYC, accommodations, and meals. Delegates are responsible for any spending money they may require for souvenirs, snacks or other items. NOTE: Possible scholarships are available.

Looking for a Halloween-themed event that also gives you the opportunity to get active? Join our group and get ready to run for your life this October! :-P 👻

We will be traveling to Governors Island together as a group and meeting hundreds of other run participants. While this is a traditional 5k race, you don’t need to be an active runner to participate. All you need is yourself and a fun costume (not required, but encouraged) to maximize the chances for a good time!

Your entry includes a ferry ride, your race-entry, a snazzy t-shirt, post-race eats and a costume contest.

The Upper East Side is a neighborhood of Manhattan that has gained international fame from movies and TV shows like Gossip Girl and Sex & the City. It’s also home to iconic landmarks such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, 998 Fifth Ave, and the Cherokee Apartments. We will dive into the history of the area: particularly how it transformed from a poor ghetto to the home of NYC’s wealthy & elite.

 

Our guide, William Singer, AIA, is a Code and Zoning Specialist for The City of New York Department of Buildings Development and Technical Affairs. He is an expert in the design and construction of large-scale public facilities. His major projects have included justice centers, transportation hubs, and cultural centers. Before joining the Department of Buildings he was a partner at Gruzen Samton, a NYC & Virginia-based architecture, planning, interior design and systems engineering firm. A Fulbright fellow (Slovenia, 1993-94), he holds a Master of Architecture degree from the School of Design at North Carolina State University, as well as a Master of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2004, Singer received a City of New York Arts Commission Excellence in Design for the renovation design of El Museo Del Barrio.

 

Mr. Singer has been generous to sponsor ticket costs for the first nine students who register for this program, so don’t wait and grab one today! Sponsored tickets are limited to one per order.

Experience a day in the life of a NYC local! For this day-long event, you’ll be paired with a New York resident and at least one other international student, and together you’ll explore your host’s favorite things to do in the city. In the past, our hosts have taken students to visit their home, shared lunch at a restaurant in their neighborhood, walked the Brooklyn Bridge, explored an art gallery, and much more. This is a great opportunity to go beyond the famous sites of the city and learn about New York life and culture through the eyes of the people who live here.
