After a scenic train ride along the Hudson River from Grand Central, we’ll take on one of the most thrilling hikes in the region. Known for its steep rock scrambles and breathtaking panoramic views, this hike is a challenge worth taking! We’ll climb to multiple scenic overlooks, soaking in expansive vistas of the Hudson Valley, Storm King Mountain, and Bannerman’s Castle. This strenuous, hands-on hike is perfect for adventure seekers who love a challenge.

 

Please note: This hike is very challenging, depending on your experience level. Expect rocky terrain, steep climbs, and uneven paths in a wooded area. Proper outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear are essential, along with plenty of water. Tickets do not include lunch or the roundtrip train fare ($30.50).

Shorewalker’s Great Saunter Around Manhattan

What’s the longest walk you’ve ever taken?

 

Join Shorewalkers for an unforgettable urban trek—a 32-mile (51.5 km) journey around the entire perimeter of Manhattan! This challenging yet rewarding adventure will test your endurance and determination as you stroll at a steady pace, taking in breathtaking waterfront views. With over 3,000 walkers from around the world, it’s a fantastic way to connect with fellow adventurers while rediscovering NYC from a whole new perspective.

 

The Great Saunter follows Manhattan’s shoreline, showcasing the diverse neighborhoods that shape the island. The journey begins and ends at the historic Fraunces Tavern on Pearl Street in Lower Manhattan. Registered participants will receive an official Great Saunter bib, hat, map, and pin, and those who complete the full route will be awarded a Finisher Certificate! While finishing the entire walk is encouraged, you’re welcome to go at your own pace and stop whenever you choose. Be sure to bring water, extra socks, snacks, and lunch to stay fueled throughout the day.

Hike Mt. Taurus: Visit to Cold Spring

Get away from the city and take in breathtaking views in Cold Spring, New York!

 

After a scenic train ride along the Hudson River from Grand Central, we’ll start our adventure with a stroll through Cold Spring on our way to the trailhead. This 5-mile loop hike offers some picturesque views and ruins of the old Cornish Estate, adding a touch of history to our journey. After the hike, we’ll have time to explore Cold Spring’s charming antique shops, cozy cafés, and scenic waterfront, making for a perfect end to the day before heading back to the city.

 

Please note: This hike ranges from moderately to very challenging, depending on your experience level. Expect rocky terrain, steep climbs, and uneven paths in a wooded area. Broadway Show: “Hell’s Kitchen” the Musical

POV: You recently arrived to the U.S. and you are ready to start crossing some things off your “must do” list. One To World is here to help! Hell’s Kitchen, the musical, is about a 17-year-old girl named Ali. Ali is full of fire – searching for freedom, passion and her place in the world.
How she finds them is a New York City coming-of-age story you’ve never felt before – Hell’s Kitchen a new musical from 17-time Grammy® Award winner Alicia Keys, whose songs and experiences growing up in NY inspire a story made for Broadway.

 

Rebellious and stifled by an overprotective single mother, Ali is lost until she meets her mentor: a neighbor who opens her heart and mind to the power of the piano. Set to the rhythm of the 90s, Hell’s Kitchen is a love story between a mother and daughter. It’s about finding yourself, your purpose, and the community that lifts you. Are you excited for a classy day out at the opera? We’re taking a group to enjoy the Moby Dick, a 2010 opera adapted from the Herman Melville classic epic. Join a group of international students for this visit to Lincoln Center. More about the opera below:

 

Following the haunting Met premiere of his first opera, Dead Man Walking, composer Jake Heggie returns to the company with his 2010 adaptation of Herman Melville’s sea-drenched, heaven-storming epic. A cast of standouts comes together on the decks of the Pequod, with tenor Brandon Jovanovich starring as the monomaniacal Captain Ahab, implacable in his pursuit of the white whale; tenor Stephen Costello as Greenhorn, the opera’s version of Ishmael; baritone Peter Mattei as the even-keeled first mate Starbuck; and bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green as the Polynesian harpooneer Queequeg. The cast also features soprano Janai Brugger as Pip, tenor William Burden as Flask, and baritone Malcolm MacKenzie as Stubb. Maestro Karen Kamensek takes the podium for a stunning staging by Leonard Foglia that arrives at the Met newly enlarged and refined following acclaimed runs in Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.
