Get away from the city and take in breathtaking views in Cold Spring, New York!

 

After a scenic train ride along the Hudson River from Grand Central, we’ll start our adventure with a stroll through Cold Spring on our way to the trailhead. This 5-mile loop hike offers some picturesque views and ruins of the old Cornish Estate, adding a touch of history to our journey. After the hike, we’ll have time to explore Cold Spring’s charming antique shops, cozy cafés, and scenic waterfront, making for a perfect end to the day before heading back to the city.

 

Please note: This hike ranges from moderately to very challenging, depending on your experience level. Expect rocky terrain, steep climbs, and uneven paths in a wooded area. Proper outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear are essential, along with plenty of water. Tickets do not include lunch or the roundtrip train fare ($30.50).

A cast of standouts comes together on the decks of the Pequod, with tenor Brandon Jovanovich starring as the monomaniacal Captain Ahab, implacable in his pursuit of the white whale; tenor Stephen Costello as Greenhorn, the opera’s version of Ishmael; baritone Peter Mattei as the even-keeled first mate Starbuck; and bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green as the Polynesian harpooneer Queequeg.
