One To World Hike: Ward Pound Ridge and Visit to Katonah, NY in Westchester

Want to go hiking and visit a small town in Westchester?

After taking a train from Manhattan, it’s a quick drive to get to Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Westchester County’s largest park. It’s 4,315 acres has varied terrain and miles of wooded trails. It’s a popular destination for picnicking, lean-to camping, fishing and cross-country skiing year-round.

The hike will be moderately challenging, depending on your prior experience. Our plan is to hike around 7 miles which will take between 3-4 hours. It’s in a wooded area that’s steep at times, so please wear suitable outdoor shoes, long pants, and bring a lot of water.

Afterwards, we will explore the small town of Katonah. From quaint antique shops, cafes, and restaurants, you’ll see all that is has to offer before returning to the city!
