One To World Tour & Talk: Visit the Lewis Latimer House
February 11, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
$10.00
February is Black History Month in the US, and there's no better time to better time to learn about the impact of Black New Yorkers throughout history. In that spirit, join One To World and your fellow international students for a visit to the Lewis Latimer House Museum.
Lewis Howard Latimer was an inventor, electrical pioneer, and a son of fugitive slaves. His work was instrumental in creating the telephone, and he also invented the carbon filament, a significant improvement in the production of the incandescent light bulb. Our visit to his home in Queens will include a tour, an educational video, and a guided discussion.
