Broadway Show: “School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play”

September 20 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
$15.00

Join One To World for a night at the theater to see Jocelyn Bioh’s acclaimed comedy, School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play!

Set at an elite boarding school in Ghana, the play follows Paulina, the school’s reigning “Queen Bee,” who dreams of representing Ghana in the Miss Universe pageant. But when Ericka, a talented and confident new student, arrives and catches the attention of a pageant recruiter, friendships, rivalries, and ideas about beauty and belonging are quickly put to the test.

Funny, sharp, and thought-provoking, School Girls explores themes of identity, friendship, beauty standards, competition, and cultural expectations, while highlighting both the similarities and differences in the experiences of young women around the world.

Come experience a compelling piece of contemporary theater alongside fellow international students and friends of One To World—and stay ready for the ultimate question: How far would you go to be Queen Bee?

We have 30 tickets at this very reduced ticket rate, so get yours before we sell out! We will organize an optional meet-up after the show for anyone who would like to debrief and continue to get to know one another after the event!
