What is the Difference Between the J-1 Intern & Trainee Visa?

The J-1 Intern visa is for students and recent graduates from universities outside the country who want to apply for an internship in the USA, to gain practical experience in their field of study for up to 12 months.Â
Trainee Category
The J-1 Trainee visa is for experienced professionals seeking career development opportunities in the U.S. for up to 18 months, offering them a chance to engage with U.S. professionals and learn about American business practices.

- Help track production timelines and order status
- Assist in creating Purchase Orders on ERP system
- Organize samples and update production trackers
- Support communication between factories, vendors, and internal teams
- Assist in quality control checks and production documentation
- Attend production meetings and take notes

Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing fabrics, trims, and other materials
- Organize and update material libraries and records
- Help track orders and deliveries from suppliers
- Support communication with vendors and mills
- Assist in preparing materials for production teams
- Deliver and track the materials between office, storage, and local factories
Ideal for:
Someone organized, detail-oriented, and interested in textiles and supply chain operations. Must be comfortable with some physical work, including lifting and carrying fabric rolls and boxes of materials.
