Become a Global Guide

As an international student or scholar living in the New York City metropolitan area, we welcome you to join us in bringing dynamic intercultural learning experiences to youth in NYC and NJ schools and after-schools.

The application for the fall 2020 Global Classroom training is open until October 2nd. We are only offering virtual training and workshops for the fall 2020 semester.

Apply to be a virtual Global Guide if...

  • You are comfortable speaking English in front of a group.
  • You are energetic and enthusiastic.
  • You are excited about sharing your culture with NYC and NJ students, while also
enriching your own understanding of American culture.
  • You hope to develop your public speaking and presentation skills & connect with young people of all ages through fun, engaging workshops.
  • You are anywhere in the world! As long as you have some availability between 8 AM and 6 PM NYC time, you can apply to be a Global Guide.

As a virtual Global Guide, you will:

  • Learn to design engaging classroom lessons for primary and secondary students through the training and mentorship of Global Classroom staff.
  • Learn how to interact with students through a virtual platform.
  • Develop and lead workshops about your country, culture & unique perspective with the support of a Global Classroom educator.
  • Empower young people of all ages to navigate the world and explore new perspectives.
For more information on becoming a Global Guide, contact Adana, Director of Global Classroom, or call (212) 431-1195.

Global Classroom is just as much a cultural adventure for me as it is for the students. It gives me a chance to see my own country from the eyes of others.
